Plucked Instruments in VirtualScore

VirtualScore’s plucked instruments family currently includes:

  • Electric Guitar
  • Bass Guitar
  • Classical Guitar
  • Soprano Ukulele

The term “plucked” distinguishes these instruments from the strings family.

Notation Mode

This option, primarily relevant to guitars, offers two choices:

  • Tablature: The virtual instrument responds only to tablature notation data (fret and string data) from the selected source track. The visualization exactly matches the fret and string numbers in the rendered tablature.

  • Standard: The visualization model responds to note data from the standard notation part of the selected source track. As notes on plucked instruments can often be played in multiple ways, all occurrences of a given note are visualized.

Stack Mode

This feature slices the instrument’s fretboard into multiple parts and stacks them vertically. It enhances readability when zooming in on the fretboard, especially useful in the mobile version of VirtualScore.

Hide Instrument’s Body

This option conceals non-essential parts of the instrument. It’s particularly useful in Stack Mode to improve the readability of visualized notes.
