Range Selection Toolbar

This toolbar enables the creation of range selections within the score.

Selection Process

1. Place two markers (A and B) by tapping desired start and end notes on the sheet music or tablature.
2. Marker placement order (AB or BA) doesn’t affect the selection outcome.
3. A successful selection is indicated by one or more transparent yellow rectangles covering the selected range.

Playback Behavior with Active Selection

• Playback functions apply only to the selected range.
• Stop button returns cursor to the start of the selected range.
• Playback ends at the selection’s end point.

Post-Selection Actions

1. Exit Selection Toolbar

• Tap the Return button to clear markers and return to the Primary Toolbar.

2. Save the Selection

• Tap the Save Range Selection button in the range sidebar.
• This opens the Add Selection Range form.

Caution

Saving a range selection requires converting the score file to VirtualScore’s format if not already converted. An alert will prompt for this conversion.

Conversion Process:

• Occurs behind the scenes without reopening the file.
• Allows smooth continuation of the session.
• Subsequent operations are saved to the new VirtualScore file.

After Saving:

• Returns to Primary Toolbar.
• Selection markers are cleared, but the range selection remains visible.
• Saved selections can be accessed via Range Selections Toolbar or Range Selections Navigator.

Tip

The Save Range Selection button is not visible for already activated range selections. Other buttons appear on the sidebar for such cases (explained in Range Selection Sidebar section).
