Supported File Types

VirtualScore supports two categories of score document file types:

1. App File Type

   • Extension: .vscore

2. Import File Types

   • Extensions: .mxl, .gp3, .gp4, .gp5, .gp, .gpx

File Type Differences

Opening procedures are identical for both file type categories. The key difference lies in the ability to persist changes made during document viewing.

Persistent Changes in .vscore Files

Changes automatically saved upon closing the document include:

• Range Selections (creation, updates, deletions)
• The Mixer’s settings (volume, solo, mute) for each track
• Master volume
• Metronome and pre-count volume
• Playback speed multiplier
• Zoom level level
• Miscellaneous preferences (horizontal/portrait, pre-count, metronome)
• Instruments Visualizer source track and visibility
• Visible score tracks and viewing order
• Learn Mode’s sidebar configuration
• Custom looping delay duration

Creating .vscore Files

Method 1: File Conversion Wizard

Access through the Document Browser’s top-right ”+” button.

Method 2: In-App Conversion

Triggered when creating a savable range from an opened Import File Type document.

File Creation Process

Convert Import File Types to .vscore through the “Add Document” button in Document Browser. This process requires specifying the source file path.
